Panther XPS Warranty Dealers and Original Equipment Manufacturers

What is Covered:

Any defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service, with exceptions listed below. Normal wear is not covered under this warranty. CMP Group Ltd. will replace or repair, at its option, any parts or systems returned within the warranty period. The obligation of CMP Group Ltd. to replace or repair the XPS Power Steering System for any breach of the warranty is the SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY provided by CMP Group Ltd. to any purchaser or owner of an XPS Power Steering System.

CMP Group Ltd. will pay warranty labor reimbursement up to 2.0 hrs. (up to a maximum of $220.00 USD total) for removal and replacement of defective parts or systems upon written, pre-approval from CMP Group Ltd. This does not include the installation or removal of any other manufacturer’s products.

Note: Warranty allows up to 1.0 hour for the Servicing Dealer’s travel time up to $110.00 USD. Any additional travel time is the Servicing Dealer’s or owner’s sole responsibility.

Shipping of warranty parts or systems to and from CMP Group Ltd. must be pre-approved in writing. Warranty labor reimbursement for on-water testing will be limited to 0.5 hour or a maximum of $55.00 USD.

 

How Long Coverage Lasts:  

The XPS Power Steering System is covered for two (2) years from the date of installation, or two (2) years from the date that a boat with the XPS Power Steering System is by an authorized dealer or has been purchased whichever is later. However, in no event shall the warranty period extend beyond the date which is thirty (30) months from the date of installation. To make a claim under this warranty, written notice of the defect must be provided to CMP Group Ltd. within sixty (60) days of the date of discovery of the defect covered by this warranty. Such notice can be provided through the online warranty form on our website panthermarineproducts.com, or through an authorized XPS dealer. If the boat on which the XPS Power Steering System is installed is used in a commercial or rental application or any other activity that generates income, the warranty period shall be six (6) months.

 

What is Not Covered:

CMP Group Ltd. will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred in connection with the removal of defective products without prior written approval.

CMP Group Ltd. warranty will be void as to any product which are or have been:

  • installed improperly as stated in the installation manual provided with the product
  • altered, repaired or modified in any manner by an unauthorized Panther dealer or installer
  • used in an abnormal or any application other than what is recommended in our installation instructions. This includes being installed with an engine that exceeds the recommended horsepower for the XPS system and/or used with products that are not compatible with the XPS system
  • damaged due to misuse or accident
  • outside of the warranty period as stated above

 

How to Get Service – OEM

In case of suspected failure, improper functionality, or service is required on the XPS Power Steering System, the boat manufacturer, prior to sale and/or delivery to a dealer is asked to please contact CMP Group Ltd. directly for diagnosis and warranty service approval, before delivery to the dealer.

 

How to Get Service – Dealer

Any repairs or service to the XPS Power Steering System that was installed and purchased from the original boat manufacturer should be approved through the installing boat manufacturer.

If the XPS Power Steering System was not installed by the boat manufacturer, but instead was installed by a Qualified Marine Service Center, the Service Center should contact CMP Group Ltd. (within the warranty period) directly for diagnosis and warranty service approval.

Failure to properly service the XPS Power Steering System at a Qualified Marine Service Center will void any and all manufacturer’s warranty.

In a scenario when the original seller or installer of the XPS Power Steering System is unavailable or unknown, a non-warranty service may be provided by a different Qualified Marine Service Center.

There are no parts on the XPS Power Steering System that are serviceable by the consumer.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OR WARRANTY, OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE TO OR REPLACEMENT OF OTHER EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY. THE WARRANTY AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. DUE TO THE SPECIAL AND UNIQUE CONDITIONS THAT MAY EXIST IN EACH APPLICATION, THE MANUFACTURER SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO DEALER,

AGENT OR EMPLOYEE IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY MODIFICATION, EXTENSION, OR ADDITION TO THIS WARRANTY.

CMP Group Ltd. reserves the right to make changes and improvements to the XPS Power Steering System without incurring any obligation to install any such changes or improvements in its products previously manufactured. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other legal rights, which may vary from state to state.
